Rosie Zerr, aged 91, passed away on May 27, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on April 2, 1933, in rural Graham County, Kansas, to Henry Dinkel and Josephine Gerstner, she married Albinus F. Zerr on June 18, 1960, in St. Peter, Kansas.
Rosie is survived by her daughters: Karen Berland (Bryan) of Guthrie, OK, and Lisa Hammersley (William) of Wichita, KS; eight grandchildren: Alexis Skaggs (Justin) of Oklahoma City, OK, Jenny Williams (James) of Port Orchard, WA, Crystal Cope (Chris) of Houston, TX, Sarah and Amanda Hammersley of Wichita, KS, Tiffany Rayon (Joe) of Oklahoma City, OK, Adam Hammersley (Victoria) of Wichita, KS, and Brett Berland of Oklahoma City, OK; six great-grandchildren: Lily, Michael, and Aaron Williams of Port Orchard, WA, Amelia Cope of Houston, TX, and Blake Berland and Abigail Rayon of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers: LeRoy Dinkel of Morland, KS, and Dan (Susie) Dinkel of Beach, ND; and one sister: Arlene Fickel of Gunnison, CO.
Preceding Rosie in death are her parents, Henry and Josephine Dinkel; her spouse of 50 years, Albinus; her mother-in-law, Emma A.N. Zerr; brother, Melvin, and his wife, Eunice Ann Dinkel; sister, Joann, and her husband Donny Miller; brother-in-law, Spencer Fickel; sister-in-law, Delores Dinkel; brother-in-law, Marcus Zerr; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Maurine Ziegler; and brother-in-law, Adoph Pfeifer.
Rosie enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, and treasured moments with family and friends. Her exuberant "Well, HI!!" always accompanied by a radiant smile, her love for square dancing with Albinus to polka music, and her knack for card games filled with laughter, competition, and joy are fond memories. A lifelong devout Catholic, she lived a life of faith, service to her community, and never embarked on a road trip without reciting the rosary. Her gentle, kind nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
