Earl Lee Cotten, age 6o, of Hays, KS (formerly Grainfield), passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019, at his residence. He was born February 20, 1959 in Lake Charles, LA, to Sidney Earnest Cotten and Loretta Irvin.
Earl loved to travel, camp and fish; he often took his nephews and great-nephews on fishing trips. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. He was a truck driver for many years. Traveling was one of Earl's favorite things to do. Another thing Earl was known for was his talent with cooking; he had some of the best dishes. Time with his family was always cherished by Earl. He had no children of his own, but was like a father to his numerous nephews and nieces. He was always the life of family gatherings.
Earl is survived by his brothers and sisters, Greg and Keith Cotten, both of Moss Bluff, LA,
David Cotten of Baton Rogue, LA, Joe McBride of Sulfer, LA, Linda Langley, Hays, and Freda Hacker of Moss Bluff, LA. He is also survived by eight nephews and nieces, ten great-nephews and nieces, and eight great-great-nephews and nieces. Earl was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will take place at a later date. Cremation was chosen.
