Obituary
Darren Eugene Sherfick was born in WaKeeney, KS on June 4, 1965, to Marlin and Lois (Fabian) Sherfick. He passed away in the Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis at Wichita on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the age of 44.
He attended WaKeeney Grade School and graduated from Trego Community High School with the class of 1984.
After graduation, Darren worked at Fort Hays State University, Wal-Mart and the KJLS radio station.
He was very fluent in putting jigsaw puzzles together in his spare time.
Those left to mourn his passing are his mother, Lois, of Ogallah; a brother, Wes and wife, Barb, of WaKeeney; a sister, Marla Stephens and husband, Dan, of Cimarron; fiancé, Wanda Burton of Hays; and a niece and nephews, Ryan Day, Brandy and Marlin Sherfick.
Preceding him in death was his father, Marlin; his maternal grandparents, C. W. and Nellie Fabian, and paternal grandparents, Walter and Neva Sherfick.
Services for Darren were held Saturday, August 8, 2009 in Ogallah Christian Church with Reverend Wayne Lofton and Pastor Stan Faulkender officiating. Interment is in Ogallah Cemetery.
