Beverly Joyce (Berry) Spena was born May 26, 1940, in Wichita, KS to the late Lois Berry. She passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 in the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital at WaKeeney at the age of 71.


As a child, she attended schools in WaKeeney. She married Troy Spivy and to this union, four children were born, Lori, Deanna, Tim, and Vicki.

On December 16, 2000, Beverly married Robert Spena in WaKeeney. He passed away September 3, 2007.


Beverly worked as an office manager for Speigel Catalog for a few years. She was a manicurist for five years and then a homemaker. During her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, collecting antiques and going to garage sales.


Survivors include a son, Tim Spivy of Huntsville, TX; two daughters, Lori Solze and husband, Rod, of Utica, Vicki Johnson of WaKeeney; step-sons, Rob Spena and wife, Carrie, of Littleton, CO, Scott Spena of WaKeeney; two step-daughters, Brenda Newcomer and husband, Steve, of WaKeeney, Raina Alm and husband, Jason, of Hays; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Preceding her in death was her husband, Bob Spena; a daughter, Deanna Spivy; her children's father, Troy Spivy; and many aunts and uncles.

A Memorial service will be held at Schmitt Funeral Home in WaKeeney, Tuesday December 20, 2011 at 2:00pm.
