Anna Wolf was born in Grainfield, KS on September 13, 1922, the daughter of Roy and Margaret (Ochs) Ochs, Sr. She passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010 in the Hays Good Samaritan Center at the age of 87.
As a young girl, she attended Jumbo Country Grade School in rural Gove County.
On April 24, 1946, Anna was united in marriage to Joseph Wolf in the Sacred Heart Parish at Park. Joseph passed away on January 27, 1960. Anna worked hard on the farm alongside the rest of the family after they lost Joseph at such a young age.
Anna was an avid seamstress and made her children's clothing. In her later years, she enjoyed embroidering and sharing many towels, tablecloths and pillow cases.
She was a 50 year member of St. Agnes Daughters of Isabella in Grainfield and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays.
Survivors include four sons, Richard and wife, Colleen, of Larned, Don and wife, Barb, of Hays, Bill and wife, Lana, of West Point, NE, Marvin and wife, Linda, of Aurora, CO; two daughters, Esther Whitlock and husband, Harold, of Gary, TX, Pat Kasper and husband, George, of Potwin, KS; thirteen grandchildren, Craig Wolf, Tami Britton, Jami Hespe, Jarrod Wolf, Gina Kelly, Travis Wolf, Crystal Burks, Shannon May, Travis May, Jayson Scheideman, Annie Kasper, C. J. Kasper, and Cassie Wolf; two step-grandchildren, Renae Horner and Rhonda Duran; sixteen great-grandchildren, Trey, Sierra, and Bristol Britton, Alexis and C. J. Wolf, Ciara and Brandon Hespe, Abbigail, Dominick, and Wyatt Wolf, Parker and Sienna Kelly, Haylee and Garrett Burks, Tristan May, Caytlyn Scheideman; five step-great-grandchildren, Bryce Horner, Jenna Moss, MaKenna Duran, RaeLynn Duran, and Cole Duran; a brother Roy Ochs, Jr.; and two sisters, Frances Witt of Grandview, MO and Elsie Karlin and husband, Darrell, of Hays.
Those preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph; and three sisters, Mary Kaiser, Rose Weber, and Antonia Rupp.
Services for Anna will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at 10:30 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church at Grainfield, KS. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 PM with Vigil to be at 7:00 PM in St. Agnes Educational Center.
