Anna Mae Jamison was born May 14, 1915, in rural Gove County, KS, to James and Rose (Feiler) Mann. She passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 in the Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care at Quinter, KS at the age of 94.
As a young girl, she went to Quinter Elementary School, graduated from Quinter High School, and attended Sterling College where she studied nursing.
On August 12, 1938, Anna Mae married Carroll Herbert Jamison. Carroll passed away March 10, 1974.
In earlier years, Anna worked as a store clerk for Coast to Coast Hardware in Quinter.
She was a member of Church of the Brethren in Quinter. Anna did extensive traveling to Hawaii, Arkansas, California, Virginia, Colorado and Missouri as well as the countries of Spain and Africa.
Those left to mourn her passing are eight grandchildren, Mitchel, MaKao, and Matthew Jamison, Debra Dempewolf, Ross, Jeff, and Scott Jamison, Rebecca O'Bar; sixteen great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Marjorie Gill of Ft. Collins, CO.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Carroll; three sons, Gary, James, and Ronald Jamison; a brother, Leonard Mann; two sisters, Edna Nelson and Margaret Keohane; and two grandchildren, Tony and Michael Jamison.
Services for Anna Mae will be held Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Church of the Brethren at Quinter, KS with Pastor Keith Funk officiating. Inurnment is in Baker Township Cemetery.
