Obituary

Angelita Randa, 76, of WaKeeney, KS, passed away on December 24th, 2013 at Hays Medical Center.

She was born on July 31, 1937 to the late Carl M. & Veronica Graf in Schoenchen, KS. She married Elmer Randa on August 20th, 1955 in Schoenchen, KS.

For years Angie and Elmer owned and managed restaurants and hotels between Ellis and Ransom. In later years, Angie worked as a cook at Ransom High School and Ransom Long Term Care where she blessed everyone with her unforgettable smile. Angie never knew a stranger and always found the good in everyone. Her loving and caring personality filled her life and all those around her.

Angie was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney, KS. She also carried on her love for baking after retirement and enjoyed working at her daughter's bakery in WaKeeney, where her love for baking and giving has carried on through her daughter. Angie and Elmer also made homemade noodles for the local grocery store in WaKeeney. Two of Angie's most cherished things in life were her family and giving to others.

Survivors include her loving husband, Elmer Randa, of the home; son, Gene Randa and wife, Barb of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Sue Benisch and husband, Gary of WaKeeney, KS; daughter-in-law, Kelle Tillitson and husband, Dave of WaKeeney, KS; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Flax of WaKeeney, KS and Bernie Flax and husband, Eddie of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Gerald Graf of Fort Worth, TX.

She is preceded in death by her son, Joey Randa Jr.; parents, Veronica & Carl M. Graf; sisters, Antonia and Francis; brothers, Leonard, Arsenius, Lester and Charles Graf.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Angie on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:30 at Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney, KS.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial contributions are suggested to the Walk-A-Thon for Health, or Keeney Village Housing, and may be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 North 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
