Agnes Faulkner was born May 1, 1917, in Hays, KS, to the late Alois and Mary (Leiker) Leiker. She was the youngest in a family of five brothers and two sisters. She passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010, in the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital at WaKeeney at the age of 93.

As a child, she attended schools in Hays. On October 15, 1957, Agnes was united in marriage to Hugh Faulkner, Jr. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hays, KS.


Agnes was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and an adopted Grandmother of the Altar Society in WaKeeney.

Survivors include her husband, Hugh of WaKeeney; a sister, Martina Leiker of Lakewood, CO; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and acquaintances.


Five brothers, Leo, Frank, Isidore, Killian and Edward Leiker; and a sister Philomina Geist preceded her in death.


A Vigil Service will be held 7:00 PM, Friday, November 26, 2010 in Schmitt Funeral Home at WaKeeney.

Services for Agnes will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2010 in Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Donald F. Pfannenstiel officiating. Interment is in Christ the King Cemetery.
